Filmmaker David Dibble

Award-winning filmmaker David Dibble has set himself apart from others in the industry by being a successful auteur.  A David Dibble production showcases David’s

distinct personal style via his whimsical view of the world, quirky characters and signature soundtracks.

David left his rural hometown of Hanford, in Central California, to attend the University of Southern California’s renowned film school.  After graduation he was privileged to apprentice under legendarycinematographer, Allen Daviau, A.S.C.  Daviau, best known for his work on E.T., Empire of the Sun, Bugsy and Avalon, allowed Dibble to truly hone his craft as he learned from a master.  Over the past decade, David has been Director of Photography on many of his own independent films and commercials as well as having shot a variety of features, shorts, documentaries for companies such as Warner Bros. and PBS.

David is an accomplished musician which adds another dimension to his work.  Many of his productions include his own scores.  It’s his variety of abilities and talents that has enabled David to succeed in an industry that is difficult to make a name in.

His most recent project is Adonis, a short film 9 years in the making.  This imaginative story incorporates the use of miniatures combined with live subjects (including actor Ernie Hudson) and showcases David’s varied talents including writing, directing, editing and score composition.  It also highlights David’s personal whimsical style via the use of color, his influence from early-age cartoons and his love of model railroading.

David currently resides at Seal Beach, CA. where he enjoys cycling and kayaking and looks at Seal Beach as “a retreat from all the chaos.”
